outlander season 1 episode 12

Understandably, after she finishes her story Jenny expects an apology from Jamie for his assuming the worst, and Claire agrees she should get one, but it seems that crossing your husband is not the done thing in 18th century Scotland, so Claire's opinion is about as popular as a mouldy haggis. It's her laugh that saves her, as he gets so cross at her derision and his failure to rise to the occasion that he knocks her out and then leaves. Now I may be blushing while I write that, but I can't imagine how awkward it must have been for actor Tobias Menzies to shoot that scene (even if it probably is a prosthetic), and he does it perfectly, capturing Randall's menace that only grows darker when Jenny realises that laughing at him is not helping his current predicament. We’re now six episodes into season five of Outlander, and I’m struggling to grasp at exactly what the season is. Go Jenny! Following a scuffle, he then threw her on the bed and, ahem, reached into his kilt to get mini-Randall hard which, as the camera shows us, he didn't manage at all. After he knocked Jamie unconscious, he took Jenny inside the house and to the bedroom, leered over her a bit… and then she smacked him over the head with a candlestick. She explains what happened with Randall, and we see it all in flashback (and there are quite a few of those in this slightly dull and exposition-heavy episode).

"If she's your wife, I'm sure she's more familiar with your balls than I am." Ha! There's a nice bit of bickering between the siblings - Jenny threatens to grab Jamie "by the bollocks" if he doesn't listen, with him saying she shouldn't say such things in front of his wife. As flashbacks remind us, the last time Jamie was there was when Black Jack Randall (boo! hiss!) flogged Jamie in the courtyard and assaulted his sister Jenny (Laura Donnelly), rumour has it leaving her pregnant, so this could be something of an awkward family reunion.īrother and sister certainly don't start off on the right foot, with Jamie believing Jenny's son (named Jamie after him) is the bastard son of Randall, but it turns out that Jenny's married to their old friend Ian (Steven Cree), and he is the father of both little Jamie and the baby Jenny is expecting. After deciding to leave 20th century comforts behind to stay with Jamie, this episode begins with the happy couple heading across the Highlands towards Jamie's home of Lallybroch.
